Our Grounds
The house is just as a family home. The décor throughout is fresh and simple, with pine furniture.
A large, wood-fitted kitchen has an oil-fired Aga which always spells warmth and potentially delicious meals! This room is the hub of the house, with a table seating 12, a walk-in larder, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher.
The open-beamed living room has comfy sofas, an open fire, a TV and DVD/video player, games and well-lined bookshelves opening up into a south-facing conservatory with an established grapevine.
The bedrooms comprise two doubles, two twins, one bunk room and one single with options for the twelfth bed. All the upstairs bedrooms have views onto the surrounding countryside with the Preselis in the distance.
There is a bathroom with shower and a shower room upstairs, and a downstairs cloakroom with loo and basin.
Pencwm has a 4-star rating from the Welsh Tourist Board. Facilities include oil-fired central heating, a high-chair and cot, a washing machine/dryer and all linen and towels (apart from towels for the beach).
The garden is large and fenced, and has swings and a slide, a patio with garden furniture, a barbecue and a shared badminton area. You are also welcome to explore the 14-acre smallholding and a newly-created woodland garden with a pond. Ponies, dogs and cats are kept by the owner who lives in the original stone Welsh longhouse on the other side of the farmyard.
There is no phone, so bring a mobile. However, there is a landline link for the use of laptops.
The village of Crymych, five miles away has every shop you need, including a bakery, butcher, wholefood shop, chemist and newsagent. The local pub has a takeaway menu, and there are excellent Chinese, Indian and fish and chips takeaways within a few miles.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
